First: Happy new year to all of you! Hope you had a great NYE. I Had! :-). I heard a lot of people saying 2016 wasn’t their year. I guess mine was a good one, my boyfriend and I traveled to different places and saw a lot of beautiful things. Even though it was a good year, I wasn’t really giving any thoughts to having a healthy lifestyle. I mean, I ate a lot of vegetables, so that is good, but eating became something I did when I was bored. Beside that I really was(/am) a chocolate addict, and after my dinner I always ate some late night snacks, just because I could. Most of the time I was tired, because I didn’t do sports or so. After Christmas – where we ate A LOT – I came to the realization that I wanted to change my lifestyle. So, I’ll share my tips for a new healthy lifestyle.
Only eat when you’re hunger feeling is real
This is really important. Don’t eat when you’re just bored or have nothing to do. Most of the time your ‘hunger’ is not real hunger. Think back about the time you came back after a long work day and you were really hungry. Do you have de same feeling now? Ok, then eat something. But the most important thing is that when you eat, eat something healthy. I only eat vegetables, but very big portions. And believe me, you’re not hungry for the next couple of hours. I don’t eat meat, but I do eat fish. And avoid carbs. Eat as much vegetables and fruit as you can. And when you’re hunger is REAL, eat something!
I have to admit, I didn’t always eat breakfast. So that is something I really need to change, because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. First of all, we need to charge our energy. When you don’t eat breakfast, you will be hungry the rest of the day and so you will grab unhealthy things. You will only lose weight when you eat what your body needs, not when you eat nothing.
It can’t be said enough. drink e n o u g h water. Water is so important for your body. Also, when you feel hungry, first try a glass of water, because your brain sees no difference between feeling hungry or thirsty. Most of the time you’re just thirsty. Drink about 1,5 a 2 liters of water a day.
Yay, I already went to the gym the last two weeks and it felt so good. Ok, I’m not that good as I was two years ago, but you need to start somewhere. I told myself to start in 2017, but I started the day after christmas. Because why not start today? If you want something, then just start! My plans are to go three times a week to the gym. You will feel much better and oh, not really important, you’ll get a great summer body! Which is my goal. In the summer of 2017 I want to have a bikini body. Let’s see how that’ll works out.
So, eat healthy, drink a lot of water and go to the gym. Sounds easy, right?
