HUAWEI P20 PRO

If you had asked me about Huawei a couple of years ago, I would probably only know it by name, but nothing more. Nowadays this brand is known much better and can easily become Apple’s biggest competitor. Huawei asked me to try their newest Huawei P20 Pro, and I would be stupid if I had said no;-).

The first thing that I noticed was the beautiful design of the phone, very minimalistic and simple. Maybe even nicer than my iPhone 8. I’m using Apple for a long time now, so I had to get used to a Android phone instead. The first thing I wanted to check after I installed the phone was the camera. The P20 Pro is the first smartphone to have not one, not two, but three camera’s on the back. So you can imagine that I was very excited and had very high expectations of it. And yes, the camera quality had pleasantly surprised me! The colors are very real, the quality is very high and it also has a lot of different options. There is a portrait function, which will make the background blurry and you can choose the camera settings manually. The front camera is also good, it even has the ‘perfect selfie’ mode;-). Beside the amazing camera is the phone very fast, water resistant and you can unlock it with the face detector or your fingerprint.

I’m not really a smartphone guru or so, but I think there are a thousand reasons to be enthusiast about the newest Huawei. The only thing for me is that I have to get used to a Android phone. And not to forget… The Huawei P20 Pro is still around 200 euro cheaper than most other smartphones.

You might have seen these pictures on my Instagram already, but these are the (non-edited) photo’s I’ve made with the P20. Normally I add a lot more color and contrast in my photo’s, but as you can see, it’s not really necessary when the photo’s are made with this phone.

So yes, I do believe people who say that it will become one of Apple’s biggest competitors. What phone do you have and would you ever go for a Huawei?:-)

Bali, our second home

Well, hello there..

To be honest, I totally forgot that, beside my Instagram, I have a blog as well. I’m wondering why I stopped blogging last year. I always tell people I love to be creative and create cool things. Maybe it’s because I think a picture is worth a thousand words? Who can tell?

At the moment we are in our villa in Canggu. My favorite place on Bali. We just went to the beach for some tanning, because the weather wasn’t that good the last couple of weeks. last couple of weeks? Yes we’re already on Bali for about five weeks, and I really feel at home here. It’s our third time here, we keep coming back, hehe.

So what have we done in the past weeks? A lot! But we mostly stayed in Canggu, because I also have to work here. Luckily I can work from my laptop whenever and wherever I want. The thing we did we loved the most was the Komodo boat trip around Flores (a 2 hours flight from Bali). We had an unforgettable time. Check my Instagram for the pictures! We also went to Nusa Penida, which is a small island next to Bali. We’ve been to Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan before, but never to Nusa Penida. We liked it there, but there is no need to stay longer then 2 days. The island has some beautiful spots, but all of them are very very touristy. I’m always happy when we are going back to Canggu. Maybe we should buy a house here….. Don’t let your dreams just be dreams;). First saving aaaa lot of money for that, haha.

Jorrit is leaving in less then a week and I’ll be staying for another 1,5 month, I guess. Haven’t booked a return flight yet and just extended my Visa. Luckily Emmeliek, one of my closest friends is coming tomorrow and she’ll be staying for 5 weeks as well. Looking forward to pick her up from the airport!

Well, this was just a little update,

See ya! x

5 SHOES EVERY WOMAN SHOULD OWN

Hi there!

I’m very picky when it comes to shoes, because in my opinion shoes actually can make or break an outfit. There are a lot of shoe brands these days which makes it hard to find the perfect pair. So, if you don’t know in which pair of shoes you want to invest, maybe my list of ‘5 shoes every woman should own’ will help you!

1. Timeless white sneakers

Definitely number one in this list: The white sneakers. They don’t have to be expensive and you can buy them anywhere. They are timeless and can be paired with every outfit.

2. Black loafers

Black loafers are also my all time favorites. They are perfect for at the office but also on a summer day with a nice dress or a denim short.

3. An unexpected pair

Beside the basics, everyone should have an unexpected pair with personality. Just when you’re in the mood!;-)

4. Espadrilles

It’s not really the season for buying summer shoes, but we are all looking forward to summer again, aren’t we? They are in a lot of different colors and can be paired with any outfit during spring and summer.

5. Classic black ankle boots

And the last but definitely not he least: the classic black ankle boot. For me this is the most important one because it can be worn the whole year. It can be paired with a jeans for a casual look, with a dress for a classy look or during summer with a nice dress.

HOTSPOT VALENCIA: FEDERAL

Hi there!

As you might have seen on my Instagram, I’m in Valencia right now. I spent the first three days here with a friend, but now I’m all by myself. So this is my first kind of ‘solo trip’! And I can tell you that it’s not that bad at all. I can do whatever I want en whenever I want. 😉

If you are planning to go to Valencia (you should!) and you are looking for a great spot for lunch or have breakfast, go to Federal. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is so kind. It felt like an Australian/Bali kinda vibe. Also, the wifi connection is great, so I’ve worked here the whole morning. And oh, the food is really good too;-). Federal is located in the old city centre off Valencia and is easily to reach by bike. Enjoy!
